We are a county run shelter, therefore we cannot control our intake or the health or behavior of the dogs that come to our shelter. Although we try our hardest to place all of our adoptable dogs, there are certain circumstances which any dog our care could be euthanized at any time and without further notice therefore all dogs at our shelter should be considered urgent. The adoption of a more highly adoptable dog mean more time for the less adoptable dog the kennel next to him! Shelter hours are: Monday-Friday: 8 am- 4 pm Saturday: 9 am- 12 pm. The pound is CLOSED to the public on There is nobody the office on Saturday and therefore we are unable to answer or return phone calls over the weekend. Can't adopt a dog? We would to have more volunteers who are able to spend time with our dogs! The dogs going for walks and the socialization and exercise helps make the dogs more adoptable. Contact information: 8455 County Home Road Lisbon, OH 44432-6663 Email: Hi there. name is I'm about 3 years old and I weigh about 35 lbs. I was brought to the pound by someone who claimed to have found me as a stray. I was okay while he was here but when he left I turned very fearful. It has taken me weeks to finally come around to shelter staff and volunteers. that I have gotten time to get used to everyone, I am very happy and loving with the people here. I am still afraid of strangers and I act defensive initially. I just need someone who be patient with me and give me time to come around to you rather than someone who corners and pressures me. It takes me a little while but once I know you're not going to hurt me, I start coming up to you and letting you pet me and once I get to know you, I turn into a very happy, loving, playful dog. I get along well with other dogs and I do like to play with other dogs. I am not a fan of other dogs coming near food, even if I am not eating it, if you have other pets, I need fed separately. I have been doing great with keeping kennel clean and I 't potty the office either as as I am let outside often enough. I require a patient family, preferably without small children, that be able to train and work with me on socialization skills. If you think you be a good family for me and have the time and patience fr me, please consider being family! Our adoption fee is $120. The adoption fee must be paid CASH.
